John Dramani Mahama Officially Sworn in as President of Ghana

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, John Dramani Mahama was officially sworn in as the President of the Republic of Ghana during a grand ceremony held at the Independence Square in Accra. Mahama, who previously served as Ghana's president from 2012 to 2017, returns to the presidency after eight years of absence following his departure from office.

In his inaugural speech, Mahama made a solemn oath: “I, John Dramani Mahama, swear by the Almighty God that I will be loyal and faithful to the Republic of Ghana as established by law,” affirming his commitment to the nation and its democratic principles.

The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries and citizens, marking a historic moment as Mahama takes the helm of the country once again. His return to power is expected to bring fresh perspectives on governance, economic recovery, and national unity.

This event follows a closely contested election, which Mahama won by a narrow margin, symbolizing a new chapter for Ghana as it moves forward with leadership under his guidance.
