The National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire has officially opened its first ordinary session of 2026, during which 25 bills will be examined by the Members of Parliament (MPs). The announcement was made by Patrick Jérôme Achi, President of the National Assembly, at the plenary opening session.
The session, running until June 30, 2026, will include:

7 ordinary bills, covering legislative and regulatory reforms;

7 bills authorizing the ratification of international conventions, strengthening cooperation with foreign partners;

13 bills ratifying presidential ordinances, aimed at consolidating the national legal framework.
Additionally, two sessions of oral questions and debates are scheduled, allowing MPs to question the government on public policies and ongoing programs.
According to the calendar adopted unanimously, this first ordinary session represents a key moment for strengthening the country’s legislative framework and consolidating public policies in several strategic sectors.
The National Assembly emphasizes that reviewing these bills reflects MPs’ commitment to ensuring a clear and effective legal framework for Côte d’Ivoire while promoting transparency and accountability in public administration.
