At the end of her mission in Côte d’Ivoire, Her Excellency Maria Da Conceição De Souza Pilar, Ambassador of Portugal to Côte d’Ivoire, was received in audience on Thursday, February 19, 2026, by Her Excellency Nialé Kaba, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to bid her farewell.

During the meeting, the Portuguese diplomat expressed her deep gratitude to the Government and people of Côte d’Ivoire for the hospitality, support, and kindness extended to her and her family throughout their stay in the country an experience they will remember fondly.

Speaking about cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and Portugal, Ambassador Maria Da Conceição De Souza Pilar praised the progress achieved, particularly in the economic, financial, scientific, cultural, and commercial sectors.

In response, Minister of State Nialé Kaba thanked her guest, on behalf of the Government and the Ivorian people, for the significant work accomplished during her mission, which helped further strengthen and elevate relations between the two countries.

The ceremony concluded with Ambassador Maria Da Conceição De Souza Pilar being awarded the rank of Commander in the National Order of Côte d’Ivoire.
