As part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between Côte d’Ivoire and Brazil, a delegation of senior officials from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has been in Côte d’Ivoire since February 2, 2026, on an expertise mission.
Accompanied by Ivorian experts from the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Crops, the Coffee-Cocoa Council, CNRA, and ANADER, the delegation visited several locations to observe cocoa production, processing, and export methods, as well as the phytosanitary practices applied throughout the sector.
The mission covered the entire cocoa value chain in Côte d’Ivoire, including visits to plantations, producers, processing factories, quality control institutions, cooperatives, and the ports of Abidjan and San Pedro.
Following these visits, a summary meeting was held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the large conference room on the 23rd floor of the Caistab building, with the Deputy Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council, Dr. Koffi N’Goran, and representatives from partner institutions in attendance. The report highlighted Côte d’Ivoire’s achievements in the coffee and cocoa sector. The Brazilian delegation praised the quality of infrastructures, services, and practices observed, and affirmed that they would provide a detailed report to their superiors on the lessons learned from the mission.
Additionally, the Brazilian representatives expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and support received throughout their stay. They emphasized the value of the field visits, which allowed them to deepen their understanding of agricultural techniques, drying, processing, transportation, phytosanitary treatment, certification systems, and storage methods.
