Abobo Cultural Center Reopens to Boost Social Cohesion and Cultural Development

The Cultural Action Center of Abobo (CACAB), renovated at the initiative of Vice President and Minister of Defense Téné Birahima Ouattara, was officially handed over on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Téné Birahima Ouattara, the Mayor of Abobo and President of the Senate, Kandia Kamissoko Camara, as well as the Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Françoise Remarck.

On this occasion, Téné Birahima Ouattara emphasized the essential role of the cultural center, describing it as “a space to bring people together, create bonds, and strengthen social cohesion in Abobo,” while calling for it to become “a dynamic, vibrant, and exemplary place.”

Minister Françoise Remarck highlighted that this initiative aligns with the vision of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, and the government’s broader efforts under Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

She expressed her gratitude, stating: “Thank you, above all, for this gesture. A strong, concrete act that changes lives. By renovating the Cultural Action Center of Abobo, you have not only restored a building you have restored hope and opened new horizons. This goes far beyond Abobo. There can be no sustainable development without a strong and vibrant culture.”

She also reaffirmed her commitment to promoting a thriving cultural sector across all communities: “The Ministry of Culture and Francophonie remains committed to working alongside all stakeholders to implement concrete, useful, and sustainable actions. Culture is not only a heritage—it is a living force. A force that unites, uplifts, and builds our common future.”

For her part, Kandia Kamissoko Camara underscored the fundamental role of culture, describing it as “a tool for education, empowerment, and social cohesion.”
