African Development Bank Launches ENNOVA, an AI Platform to Support Entrepreneurship in Africa

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has launched ENNOVA, an artificial intelligence-based platform designed to support African entrepreneurs and enhance skills development across the continent. The platform was officially launched during the 12th Sankalp Africa Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

ENNOVA is designed to connect entrepreneurs, support organizations, training institutions, and investors. According to the AfDB, the initiative aims to create an integrated digital ecosystem that fosters startup growth and job creation.

Key features of the platform include a directory of over 1,300 business support organizations, 265 professional resources offering funding and training, and a news and events section to track developments in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Users also have access to networking and messaging tools, facilitating collaboration and partnerships across Africa.

The AfDB emphasizes that ENNOVA is part of a broader strategy to improve access to opportunities for young people and women in Africa, using digital technology and artificial intelligence to make information, financing, and networks more accessible and effective.

Since its launch, the platform has already seen strong engagement, with more than one-third of Sankalp Summit participants registering, reflecting growing interest among entrepreneurs in this innovative tool.
