Air Côte d’Ivoire and Air France have signed a reciprocal codeshare agreement on the Paris–Abidjan route, allowing both airlines to market flights operated by the other carrier from October 25.
The agreement is intended to expand booking options and give passengers greater flexibility in choosing flight schedules between Côte d’Ivoire and France. Under the arrangement, each airline will be able to sell seats on eligible flights operated by its partner under its own flight code.
The partnership is also expected to strengthen connections for passengers travelling beyond Paris through Air France’s international network. The agreement does not necessarily mean additional flights will be introduced on the route.
The two airlines also plan to bring their frequent-flyer programmes closer together by the end of 2026. The initiative will involve Flying Blue, Air France’s loyalty programme, and sMiles, the programme operated by Air Côte d’Ivoire, allowing eligible passengers to earn and use miles under the terms established by the carriers.
The cooperation is expected to expand further, with the airlines planning to extend their partnership to other destinations served by Air France before the end of the first half of 2027.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two carriers. For Air Côte d’Ivoire, it offers an opportunity to increase its commercial reach and improve access to international connections. For Air France, the partnership strengthens its presence on a key West African route.
The new arrangement comes as airlines seek to expand their networks through partnerships that allow them to reach more destinations without necessarily operating additional aircraft or routes themselves.
Passengers will need to check the operating carrier and the conditions attached to their tickets when booking flights under the codeshare agreement.
