Abidjan, July 8, 2025 – Before the end of 2025, Air Côte d'Ivoire's network will be strengthened with the launch of the Abidjan–Paris route and the arrival of two wide-body aircraft.

The announcement was made by the Director General of Air Transport, Ahmed Djibril Coulibaly, during his speech on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the weekly "Tout Savoir Sur" (TSS) forum organized by the Government Information and Communication Center (CICG) in Abidjan-Plateau.

According to Ahmed Djibril Coulibaly, the national airline currently operates a fleet of 12 aircraft, which is expected to grow to 18 by 2031. "With 1,180 employees and a market share of 52%, the company is now a regional benchmark, equipped with a modern fleet and IOSA certification that ensures the highest safety standards," he said.

The Director General also highlighted that the aviation sector in Côte d'Ivoire provides around 4,000 direct jobs across key institutions in the ecosystem.

As for the safety and security of Ivorian air traffic in general, he reassured the public that they meet world-class standards:
"The country achieved a compliance rate of 93.89% following the Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from October 23 to 28, 2024. This ranks Côte d'Ivoire first in Africa and 11th globally in terms of airport operation safety."

He further recalled that from March 7 to 16, 2022, the country underwent a security audit by ICAO, during which Côte d’Ivoire earned a score of 90.09% for civil aviation security, placing it second in Africa in this domain, just behind Kenya.

Finally, the Director General expressed satisfaction that the Abidjan airport has also received carbon accreditation.
