BNI and Six Other Banks Partner in Doropo Gold Project Financing

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the National Investment Bank of Côte d’Ivoire (BNI), alongside six other banks, signed financing agreements for the Doropo gold project. The major project secured a total of 148 billion CFA francs in financing from the seven banking partners, including BNI.

The signing ceremony took place at the Noom Hotel in the Plateau district of Abidjan. It was attended by Daniel D. Kouadio, BNI Secretary General, representing Managing Director Youssouf Fadiga, alongside Bertrand Niagne, Director of Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions Relations, and Ibrahim Coulibaly, Head of the Large Corporates, Mining, Oil & Gas and Distribution Department.

As spokesperson for the banking consortium, BNI delivered a message through its Secretary General on the responsibility that comes with financing a project of such significance.

“Beyond the expected economic performance, the project's success must also translate into positive benefits for local communities, compliance with environmental and social requirements, and sustainable value creation for the Bounkani region,” he said.

The financing operation reinforces BNI’s role in supporting strategic and large-scale projects aimed at transforming and sustainably developing Côte d’Ivoire’s economy.
