Téné Birahima Ouattara took part on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Paris in the G7++ Friends of the Gulf of Guinea Group (FOGG) meeting, a high-level gathering dedicated to maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.
Through this meeting, Côte d'Ivoire committed alongside member countries to establishing a sustainable financing system and a process for taking ownership of the YARIS information-sharing platform.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Defence held an important working session on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Paris with his French counterpart, Catherine Vautrin.
During the meeting, both officials reviewed security-related issues, particularly terrorism management and maritime surveillance.
Created in 2013 during the British presidency of the G7, the G7++ FOGG works to support the maritime security architecture developed under the Code of Conduct concerning the prevention and repression of piracy, armed robbery against ships, and illicit maritime activities in West and Central Africa.
