The National AIDS Control Fund has been transformed into a public administrative institution with social, cultural, and environmental responsibilities, and has been renamed the National Fund for the Fight Against Diseases and Epidemic Emergencies.

"The Council adopted a decree establishing a public administrative institution known as the National Fund for the Fight Against Diseases and Epidemic Emergencies. This decree transforms the National AIDS Control Fund into a national public administrative institution with social, cultural, and environmental responsibilities under the new name," the government spokesperson said.

According to the government spokesperson, the creation of this new institution is intended to strengthen the resilience of the national healthcare system in the face of epidemiological challenges and public health crises.

The restructuring of the Fund will also help diversify funding sources, optimize resource allocation, improve governance, and expand its scope of intervention to include other priority health programs, such as tuberculosis, cancer, nutrition, maternal and child health, while also enhancing the country's capacity to respond effectively to future epidemic emergencies.
