The Council of Ministers, at its meeting on August 5, 2026, ratified a loan agreement totaling CFA 42 billion to partially finance the construction of 4,300 social and affordable housing units in Côte d'Ivoire. The financing will specifically support Phase 4 of the project, which includes the construction of 840 housing units in Bouaké, along with related social infrastructure.

According to government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly, the project provides for the construction of 4,300 social and affordable housing units, including 2,360 in Abidjan, 420 in Yamoussoukro, and 1,520 in Bouaké.

The project also includes the development of three sites covering approximately 30 hectares, improved access to basic social services for local communities, and the promotion of innovative homeownership solutions for low-income households.
