Côte d’Ivoire Boosts Military Cooperation with Foreign Diplomats

Military diplomats accredited to Côte d’Ivoire took part in an immersion program within the Forces Armées de Côte d’Ivoire (FACI) from April 27 to 29, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral military cooperation.

From Abidjan to military bases across the country, defense attachés inspected military infrastructure and assessed the operational capabilities of various army units and the National Gendarmerie. The strategic program combined high-level briefings with field visits.

By opening its military facilities to foreign partners, Côte d’Ivoire sought to provide direct insight into its defense system and showcase a modern, structured army prepared to address regional security challenges.

The initiative also promoted the exchange of technical and strategic information, the harmonization of joint training protocols and stronger ties between Ivorian forces and their international counterparts.

Through this initiative, Côte d’Ivoire reaffirmed its ambition to position itself as a key and open security actor in West Africa, relying on active military diplomacy to help ensure regional stability.
