Côte d’Ivoire Continues Removal of 123,000 Tonnes of Residual Cocoa to Streamline Marketing

The operation to remove the remaining 123,000 tonnes of cocoa, launched by the Coffee-Cocoa Council to facilitate marketing, continues across its 13 regional delegations.

Following the official launch on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Transcao PK 24 industrial complex by the Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council, Koné Brahima Yves, several cooperatives are now able to transport their stocks to the ports of Abidjan and San Pedro.

The regional delegation of the Coffee-Cocoa Council in Gagnoa confirmed on January 30, 2026, that the operation is being carried out gradually to avoid new bottlenecks. This has provided relief to farmers in the production areas of Gagnoa, Ouragahio, and surrounding regions.

In addition, the removal activities are taking place alongside other approved actors in the sector, who continue their interventions independently of the regulatory, stabilization, and development body.

These actions align with the Ivorian government’s firm commitment to fully remove all residual cocoa stocks held by operators at the farm level. This initiative is expected to streamline cocoa marketing and protect the incomes of producers, who are essential links in the coffee-cocoa value chain.
