Côte d’Ivoire Signs Partnership With SEPHIS Foundation to Support Women-Led Businesses

Fondation SEPHIS and Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Women, Family and Children have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening support for women entrepreneurs and improving access to financing for women-led businesses.

The partnership was announced as part of the launch of the SEPHIS Foundation’s new 2026–2030 program cycle, which will focus on expanding initiatives dedicated to the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and economic activities led by women.

According to officials, the collaboration seeks to support women’s economic empowerment through financing opportunities, business support programs, and initiatives designed to strengthen female entrepreneurship in Côte d’Ivoire.

During the signing ceremony, Sefora Kodjo praised the leadership of Nassénéba Touré and her commitment to advancing practical solutions aimed at supporting women.

The initiative aligns with the Ivorian government’s broader strategy to promote financial inclusion, women’s entrepreneurship, and economic participation as part of the country’s development agenda.

Women-owned businesses remain a significant part of Côte d’Ivoire’s informal and small business economy, though access to financing continues to be a major challenge for many entrepreneurs.

Officials said the partnership is expected to strengthen institutional support mechanisms and create new opportunities for women seeking to expand their businesses between 2026 and 2030.
