Côte d’Ivoire Strengthens Economic Intelligence Strategy to Protect Growth and Sovereignty

Côte d’Ivoire is strengthening its economic intelligence strategy to better respond to new global threats and protect its national interests. During the fourth National Strategic Reflection Session organized by the Institute of Strategic and Defense Studies, Ivorian officials emphasized the importance of economic intelligence as a tool for both national security and development.

Hervé Franck Koffy highlighted the government’s ambition to make economic intelligence an operational tool to support national security and economic growth.

Representing Téné Birahima Ouattara, Abou Bamba stressed that with a GDP exceeding $111 billion, Côte d’Ivoire attracts both investment and increasing risks. He said the country must anticipate threats such as market manipulation, resource exploitation, and economic vulnerabilities by building stronger institutions and a clear operational strategy.

Through conferences and working groups, Côte d’Ivoire aims to create its own economic intelligence shield and strengthen its position as a leading power in West Africa by 2030.
