Côte d’Ivoire and Türkiye are seeking to strengthen economic cooperation and expand private-sector partnerships following high-level discussions between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire (CCI-CI) and a delegation from the Türkiye–Côte d’Ivoire Business Council.
The meeting took place on June 11 in Abidjan and brought together senior representatives of the Ivorian and Turkish business communities to explore new opportunities for investment, trade and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
The Turkish delegation was led by Vedat Ergunbas, President of the Türkiye–Côte d’Ivoire Business Council under the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK). On the Ivorian side, the discussions were chaired by Coulibaly Zoumana, First Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire, representing the institution’s President, Touré Faman.
According to participants, the talks focused on ways to strengthen commercial exchanges, facilitate investment flows and encourage strategic partnerships between businesses operating in both countries. The two sides also discussed mechanisms to support private-sector development and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs seeking access to each other's markets.
A key outcome of the meeting was the announcement of plans to sign a partnership agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire and the Türkiye–Côte d’Ivoire Business Council. The proposed agreement is expected to establish a formal framework for cooperation aimed at promoting bilateral trade, facilitating business networking and encouraging cross-border investment initiatives.
The discussions reflect growing economic relations between Côte d’Ivoire and Türkiye, whose trade and diplomatic ties have expanded significantly in recent years. Both countries have increasingly sought to deepen cooperation across sectors including infrastructure, manufacturing, trade, logistics and services.
The meeting concluded with business-to-business (B2B) exchanges involving economic operators from both countries. Participants used the platform to identify potential collaboration opportunities and lay the groundwork for future commercial and industrial partnerships.
As Côte d’Ivoire continues to position itself as one of West Africa’s leading investment destinations, the strengthening of ties with Türkiye is expected to contribute to greater economic integration, increased trade volumes and new investment opportunities for businesses on both sides.
