On April 8, 2026, in Accra, Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Planning and Development and Governor for the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), Souleymane Diarrassouba, took part in the 24th Ordinary General Assembly of the Bank’s Board of Governors.
During the meeting, governors from member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) reviewed the Bank’s 2025 performance and adopted its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, which outlines key priorities for the next five years.
Under this plan, EBID aims to mobilize $2.7 billion to primarily support the private sector in key areas such as energy, agro-industry, and infrastructure.
As a major player in financing and regional integration, EBID plays a crucial role in mobilizing resources across West Africa to support large-scale development projects in member states.
Côte d’Ivoire’s active participation in this General Assembly reflects its commitment to strengthening regional financial integration and enhancing the role of EBID as a key development instrument in West Africa.
