Côte d’Ivoire and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have signed the 2026-2027 Nutrition Biennial Work Plan, an initiative aimed at strengthening efforts to combat malnutrition across the country.

The signing ceremony took place in Abidjan, with Dibi Kokora Alexandre, Director General of Planning, Statistics and Projects (DGPSP), representing the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné.

With a budget of CFA 12 billion, the two-year plan seeks to eliminate all forms of malnutrition in Côte d’Ivoire, with a focus on the most vulnerable populations, particularly children and communities at greater nutritional risk.

The initiative aligns with the priorities of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, which places human capital development at the center of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy.

Ivorian authorities described the agreement as a major step toward improving nutrition outcomes, strengthening support for vulnerable groups, and ensuring that children have the conditions needed to grow and reach their full potential.

Through this partnership, Côte d’Ivoire and UNICEF reaffirm their commitment to building a country where every child has access to adequate nutrition and the opportunity to develop in a healthy environment.
