Côte d’Ivoire reviews anti-corruption progress, sets 2026 priorities under national program

The High Authority for Good Governance (HABG) on Monday officially opened a review meeting focused on assessing 2025 results and outlining 2026 priorities under the National Anti-Corruption Program (PNLC 2025–2028).

The session, held at the institution’s headquarters in Cocody, Abidjan, was chaired by Secretary-General Oumar Doh Diamouténé, representing HABG President Épiphane Zoro Bi Ballo.

In his opening remarks, the Secretary-General commended the strong participation of stakeholders and emphasized the importance of the exercise as both a tool for accountability and strategic planning. He noted that the meeting aims to review actions carried out in 2025 and define key priorities for 2026.

He also highlighted progress made in implementing the program, particularly through the rollout of the 2025 Annual Work Plan, which contributed to strengthening the regulatory framework, intensifying awareness campaigns, and enhancing the capacities of oversight and investigative bodies.

The meeting is part of the broader implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (2024–2028), which is structured around several strategic pillars designed to promote transparency, integrity, and efficiency in public governance.

Scheduled to run over two days, the workshop seeks to evaluate achievements from the past year, identify challenges encountered, and develop the 2026 Annual Work Plan to further improve the effectiveness of the national anti-corruption framework.

Bringing together representatives from state institutions, government ministries, technical bodies, and civil society organizations, the session provides a strategic platform for dialogue, coordination, and consolidation of efforts toward good governance.

Through this initiative, the HABG reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a collective and sustainable approach to ethical, transparent, and accountable governance in Côte d’Ivoire.
