Côte d’Ivoire signs 8 oil contracts with Petrobras

Following the Council of Ministers held on June 3, 2026 in Abidjan, the government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, announced the signing of eight new production sharing contracts with the company Petrobras, bringing the occupancy rate of the national sedimentary basin to 75%.

“The Council adopted a communication relating to the signing of production sharing contracts on the oil blocks CI.513, CI.600, CI.601, CI.602, CI.603, CI.605, CI.701 and CI.702, a total of eight blocks with the company Petrobras,” Amadou Coulibaly stated.

According to him, following negotiations between the government and Petrobras, eight new production sharing contracts will be signed with the State, with the Brazilian operator in charge of the aforementioned oil blocks.

These agreements increase the coverage of the national sedimentary basin to 75%, representing an area of approximately 63,000 km² where production, evaluation, and exploration activities are carried out, paving the way for potential major new discoveries.
