Côte d’Ivoire has signed a strategic agreement with OCP Africa aimed at strengthening food security, increasing agricultural productivity and modernizing value chains through integrated farming solutions.
The protocol was signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné, and focuses on accelerating the structural transformation of the agricultural sector through innovation and technology.
According to officials, the partnership is built around three main pillars: the use of geographic information systems (GIS) to improve agricultural planning and traceability, digital soil mapping to optimize fertilizer recommendations, and the development of AgriTech through skills transfer and training initiatives.
A key component of the agreement is the planned establishment of a Digital Farming School in Yamoussoukro, which is expected to support capacity building in modern agricultural practices and digital farming technologies.
Minister Bruno Nabagné Koné welcomed the partnership, describing it as a major lever to accelerate agricultural transformation in Côte d’Ivoire. He emphasized that innovation and value chain development will be central to improving productivity and ensuring long-term sector sustainability.
The agreement reflects Côte d’Ivoire’s broader strategy to modernize its agricultural sector, enhance food sovereignty, and strengthen cooperation with international partners in agricultural innovation.
