A Thai delegation, led by the Director General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), is on an official mission to Côte d’Ivoire from February 23 to 28, 2026, as part of the Thailand–Africa Initiative for Development.
On February 24, a High-Level Meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, marking an important step in strengthening the Ivorian–Thai partnership.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and established a Joint Working Group responsible for monitoring the implementation of agreed actions.
Since December 2025, Côte d’Ivoire has been listed among Thailand’s priority partner countries for development cooperation. The country expects to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding currently being prepared between the Centre National de Recherche Agronomique (CNRA), the Agence Nationale d’Appui au Développement Rural (ANADER), and Kasetsart University for the development of the rice sector, as well as an agreement concerning the manufacturing of rubber-based medical equipment.
In addition, the delivery of adapted agricultural machinery is expected in the coming days.
The two delegations also agreed to hold the first bilateral consultations in the near future.
The mission will continue with a visit to the Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice) in Bouaké M’Bé.
