Côte d’Ivoire and Zambia have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in digital technology, with a focus on artificial intelligence and agricultural innovation, following high-level talks between their respective ministers.
Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister Djibril Ouattara met with Zambia’s Minister of Technology and Science, Felix C. Mutati, during an official visit to Abidjan, where both sides explored opportunities to accelerate digital transformation and build sustainable partnerships.
Discussions highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in improving agricultural productivity, as both countries seek to leverage technology to support economic growth and food security.
The Zambian delegation also used the visit to promote the candidacy of Kezias Kazuba Mwale for the position of Secretary General of the African Telecommunications Union. The election is scheduled to take place in July 2026 in Abuja, Nigeria.
The meeting reflects broader efforts by African nations to enhance regional collaboration in digital innovation and position technology as a key driver of development across the continent.
