Côte d’Ivoire: WUSC Canada and Atlantic Group Foundation Join Forces for Sustainable Development

Two organizations focused on youth development signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday in Abidjan aimed at strengthening employability, entrepreneurship, and climate resilience in Côte d’Ivoire and across Africa.

The Entraide universitaire mondiale du Canada and the Fondation Atlantic Group formalized the strategic agreement, which seeks to expand economic opportunities for young people and women through initiatives centered on sustainable development.

According to both institutions, the partnership is grounded in a shared vision: aligning economic growth with social progress by focusing on key sectors such as the circular economy, the biochar value chain, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and local economic development.

“Together, we aim to develop concrete initiatives in strategic sectors such as the circular economy, the biochar value chain, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and local economic development. Our goal is to create sustainable opportunities for young people and women, strengthen community resilience, and contribute to a positive and lasting economic, social, and environmental impact,” said Antoine Resk Diomandé, ESG, Impact and Foundation Director General at Fondation Atlantic Group.

For WUSC, the agreement represents a key step toward scaling high-impact initiatives.

“This Memorandum of Understanding is far more than an administrative act; it is the formalization of a shared commitment to act at scale. Together, we are committed to working on high-impact projects,” said Sarah Lajoie Flyng, Country Director of WUSC in Côte d’Ivoire.

The partnership comes at a time when youth employability and the transition toward more sustainable economies remain key priorities across West Africa, according to both organizations.
