COSIM Announces Mawlid Celebration for the Night of September 3 to 4, 2025

The Higher Council of Imams, Mosques, and Islamic Affairs (COSIM) has announced that the celebration of Mawlid, the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), will be observed on the night of Wednesday, September 3 to Thursday, September 4, 2025.

In a public statement released on Monday and shared with incotedivoire.net, COSIM encouraged all Muslims across Côte d’Ivoire to dedicate this sacred night to spiritual devotion, inviting them to engage in prayers, recitations of the Holy Qur’an, and acts of solidarity and generosity, in a spirit of peace, fraternity, and social cohesion.

Mawlid is a spiritually significant occasion for Muslims worldwide. It brings the community together around the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad — a model of mercy, justice, and compassion for all of humanity.

COSIM calls on the faithful to make this night a time of reflection, gratitude, and reaffirmed commitment to values of peace and unity.
