EBID Pledges Support for Côte d’Ivoire’s NDP 2026–2030

PND 2026–2030: The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) Commits to Supporting Côte d’Ivoire in the Implementation of the NDP 2026–2030

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Minister of Planning and Development, Souleymane Diarrassouba, held a meeting with the President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, at his office in Plateau. The discussion focused on the Bank’s support for implementing Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (NDP) 2026–2030.

The Minister highlighted that EBID will play a key role in financing the private sector and promoting national champions, in line with pillars 2 and 3 of the NDP 2026–2030: “Modernization of Agriculture” and “Promotion of Private Investment.” He also congratulated Dr. Donkor for the Bank’s achievements in recent years, particularly in overcoming challenges to position EBID as a more dynamic institution.

Dr. Diarrassouba welcomed the opening of EBID’s regional office in Abidjan, expressing hope that it would accelerate financing for both the public and private sectors in Côte d’Ivoire. He encouraged the Bank to aim at at least doubling its current portfolio of 1.1 billion USD over the next three years and to continue mobilizing innovative concessional funds while improving the Bank’s credit rating.

For his part, Dr. Donkor congratulated the Minister and requested his strategic guidance to ensure successful financial cooperation with Côte d’Ivoire. He emphasized Côte d’Ivoire’s importance as a key partner of EBID and officially introduced Baba Malick Ba as the Bank’s new Regional Director in Abidjan.

Noting that Côte d’Ivoire remains a strategic partner, Dr. Donkor affirmed that the NDP 2026–2030 aligns with EBID’s strategy and assured full support for financing the successful implementation of the National Development Plan.
