Food Security: Sidi Tiémoko Touré Launches the First Edition of Selab Fisheries Expo 2025

Sidi Tiémoko Touré, Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, officially launched the first edition of the "Selab Fisheries Expo 2025" on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Abidjan-Marcory. The event is themed: "Sustainable Development of Fishing and Aquaculture: What Policies and Strategies?"

The goal of this edition is to contribute to food security, promote the adoption of best practices in innovative fishing and aquaculture, and foster exchanges among key stakeholders in the fisheries industry. The event also aims to ensure a resilient, sustainable, and competitive fishing and aquaculture sector for Côte d'Ivoire, in service of the country's food security and the prosperity of its people.

Minister Sidi Tiémoko Touré praised the initiative, highlighting the expo as a unique platform for discussion, reflection, and action for all stakeholders in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.

The event will take place from April 24 to 26, 2025, at the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire. Fifty exhibitors from several countries, including Egypt and Indonesia, have been invited to participate in this inaugural edition.
