The Prime Minister, Dr Beugré Mambé, opened this Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Abidjan, the 31st Ministerial Committee Meeting of #GIABA (Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa).
Faced with the growing sophistication of financial crime, the Head of Government called for collective action from states in the sub-region.
“Illicit financial flows weaken institutions, fuel insecurity, and deprive our states of essential resources needed to finance infrastructure and social policies, particularly in support of women and youth. In light of these challenges, no state can act effectively in isolation. Regional cooperation is therefore the cornerstone of our joint action and the guarantee of its effectiveness,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the progress made by Côte d’Ivoire, which has implemented almost all of the recommendations of #FATF (Financial Action Task Force), the leading international body responsible for setting global standards in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.
