Highway Project: Government Ratifies Treaty for the Praia-Dakar-Abidjan Transport Corridor, 3,164 km Long

The Council of Ministers adopted a decree ratifying the treaty for the creation of the Praia-Dakar-Abidjan transport corridor, government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly announced at the conclusion of the Council of Ministers on November 12, 2025, in Abidjan.

“Following the authorization from Parliament, marked by the law of June 25, 2025, this decree ratifies the treaty for the creation of the Praia-Dakar-Abidjan transport corridor,” he stated.

According to the government spokesperson, this treaty concerns a highway project 3,164 km long, including 600 kilometers of maritime connection, linking eight countries from Cape Verde to Côte d’Ivoire via Senegal.

The highway project aims to facilitate movement along the corridor and boost economic development in the signatory states while ensuring environmental sustainability.
