INP-HB: Remarkable Progress in the Ranking of African Universities

The Félix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute (INP-HB) continues to assert its academic excellence. In the 2025 edition of the Top University Rank (TUR), compiled by Research Analytics International, the Yamoussoukro-based institution maintained its 2nd place among French-speaking universities in Africa while climbing nine places at the continental level, moving from 36th to 27th position.

The TUR evaluates nearly 150 institutions across the continent based on three key criteria: quality of teaching, scientific output, and societal impact. Its methodology also considers dimensions rarely included in other rankings, such as local community engagement and student participation in university life.

On this last point, INP-HB stands out with an exceptional score of 93.8 in the “student engagement” category, reaffirming its ability to provide an environment that fosters intellectual, social, and civic growth. Students at INP-HB are recognized not only as learners but also as key contributors to the development of their communities.

It is also worth noting that two other Ivorian institutions made it into this prestigious ranking: ENSEA (114th place) and ESATIC (146th place). This achievement further highlights the commitment of Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to strengthening the visibility and competitiveness of Ivorian universities on the continental stage.
