Inauguration of the Kouakou Firmin Cultural Center in Bouaflé: Zoro Bi Ballo Épiphane Calls for Unity

On August 29, 2025, the city of Bouaflé was filled with emotion and brotherhood during the inauguration of the Kouakou Firmin Cultural Center in Koblata, newly rehabilitated thanks to the efforts of the Koblata Development Mutual (MUDEKO). With a total investment of 40 million FCFA, this restoration honors Firmin Kouakou, a local figure of development who passed away in 2018.

At the heart of the ceremony, the President of the High Authority for Good Governance (HABG), Zoro Bi Ballo Épiphane, delivered a powerful message:
“What unites us is stronger than what may divide us. What brings us together is fraternity, development efforts, and values of hard work and dedication to our community.”

He congratulated MUDEKO for this exemplary initiative and expressed hope that it would inspire other associations throughout Côte d’Ivoire:
“The act you have carried out will set a precedent. Together, we can build for our people, fight poverty, and create true development.”

Beyond the speeches, the ceremony took on a festive air, energized by the voices and rhythms of renowned Gouro artists such as Bi Pomi Junior, Bi Zoto, and Vovohi Bordeaux, who stirred the audience with a mix of emotion and celebration.

The inauguration of the Kouakou Firmin Cultural Center goes beyond a simple tribute to one man. It symbolizes solidarity, social cohesion, and unity in action. For Zoro Bi Ballo, the center is not merely a cultural building — it is a living legacy, proof of what unity and fraternity can achieve in building a better future.

The event, marked by both solemnity and conviviality, brought together a large delegation of officials from the Marahoué region, traditional chiefs, local administration representatives, and several political figures.

Former Minister Hubert Oulaye, who was expected, was represented by Minister Lia Bi Douayoua and Jean-Claude Bayou. Speaking on behalf of the Mayor of Bouaflé, second deputy Goli Bi Foua highlighted the center’s importance to community life and the cultural influence of the locality.

In his address, Kouakou Didier, president of MUDEKO, emphasized that the project is much more than a renovation:
“It is an act of remembrance and development — a way to honor a man who left a mark on our community and to inspire new collective initiatives.”
