Under the Ministry of State Portfolio and Public Enterprises, the Council of Ministers on February 4, 2026, adopted a decree authorizing SODEMI (the Ivorian Mining Development Company) to take a stake in the company named Ivoiro-Chinoise d’Exploration, abbreviated as ICEX.
According to the government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, ICEX, which is still being established, will be an Ivorian law company dedicated to mining exploration activities.
The company’s statutes provide for a share capital of CFA 20 million, consisting of 2,000 shares with a nominal value of CFA 10,000 each, held 56.65% by SODEMI and 43.35% by its partner, China National Geological and Mining Corporation.
In accordance with the legislation applicable to publicly funded companies, this decree authorizes SODEMI to participate in the establishment of ICEX.
