Ivory Coast Cables, Engine of the Digital Revolution in West Africa

A 100% subsidiary of Orange Côte d’Ivoire, Ivory Coast Cables is at the heart of the digital revolution in West Africa through the massive deployment of fiber optic networks and the modernization of infrastructure. Under the leadership of its CEO, Kolo Koné, the company is building robust and sustainable networks that drive the continent’s digital growth while showcasing local talent. With over 30,000 kilometers of fiber optic deployed in 2025 and double-digit growth since 2021, Ivory Coast Cables has propelled Côte d’Ivoire to 3rd place in Africa on the Fiber Development Index, the ranking of the best-connected countries in broadband.

As the technological arm of Orange Côte d’Ivoire, the company designs, deploys, and maintains fixed fiber optic networks across the regional cluster, covering Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, and Burkina Faso. It operates at the core of the fixed network, where service quality, connection reliability, and ultra-high-speed performance are determined. “We are proud to be the first operator to completely decommission copper networks to offer a 100% fiber optic fixed network,” says Kolo Koné, CEO of Ivory Coast Cables.

This strategic shift has strengthened Orange Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership in the fixed Internet market, with a 77% market share 431,000 clients out of 600,000 subscribers in 2025, according to the Ivorian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ARTCI). That same year, Ivory Coast Cables deployed 190,000 FTTH lines (Fiber to the Home) and carried out 80,000 maintenance interventions, accelerating the country’s digitalization.

Behind these figures lies a precise operational engine. New subscribers are connected in less than five days. Any intervention is completed within 48 hours, and 80% of operations are done right the first time. This operational rigor makes all the difference. “These results are the fruit of our constant commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction,” says Kolo Koné. This commitment earned the company the prestigious Best Manager of the Year Award in the “National Companies” category from the Ivorian business community in 2024. “We hadn’t even applied,” Kolo Koné adds with a smile, proving that efficiency can sometimes precede recognition.
