At the first edition of the International Communication Days (JICOM 2026), held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, the Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, reaffirmed the crucial role of regulation as an essential lever for ensuring sustainable, credible, and well-structured growth in the media sector.
Held under the theme “Communicate or you die”, the initiative highlights the strategic importance of communication in a context marked by rapid digital transformation and the accelerated circulation of information.
The opening panel, co-hosted by Minister Amadou Coulibaly and the President of the National Press Authority, Samba Koné, focused on the need to strengthen the legislative framework. The discussions emphasized key priorities such as combating misinformation, ensuring fair competition among media actors, and creating a more attractive environment for investment.
The event brought together numerous media professionals as well as representatives from English-language media outlets, reflecting the international scope and growing relevance of the discussions on media governance and communication in the digital age.
