Minister of Health Stresses Quality of Care During Visit to Treichville University Hospital

The Minister of Health, Public Hygiene, and Universal Health Coverage, Pierre N'Gou Dimba, emphasized to his collaborators the importance of the quality of care provided in healthcare facilities across the country.

This took place during a working session with the staff of the Treichville University Hospital Center (CHU) on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the amphitheater of the Health Workers Training Institute (INFAS).

"The government's priority is to ensure that healthcare is of high quality. Over the past few years, we have been investing in building and rehabilitating all hospitals to have a healthcare system and technical facilities that meet the required standards. But beyond that, the most important thing is the service provided to the population," said Pierre N'Gou Dimba.

This meeting between the head of the Health Ministry and the staff of this hospital, held two weeks after a similar session at the Yopougon CHU, provided an opportunity for in-depth reflection to shed light on key points: staff presence and performance, quality of technical facilities, infrastructure rehabilitation, availability of medicines, and equipment maintenance.

"Under the Prime Minister's instructions, we have visited the facilities that serve as the entry point to our healthcare system to evaluate the work being done. At the same time, we take the opportunity to assess the remaining challenges with the aim of providing solutions," explained Pierre N'Gou Dimba.

At the end of the meeting, the minister toured the internal medicine and nephrology departments of the CHU undergoing rehabilitation, as well as the INFAS buildings under construction or renovation.

As a level-3 reference hospital, the Treichville CHU serves approximately one million people per year.
