The Director General of Land Transport and Traffic (DGTTC), Oumar Sacko, handed over a batch of equipment on March 3 in Abidjan to strengthen the operational capacities of the National Police as part of the “Épervier Tolérance Zéro” operation.
According to Oumar Sacko, the equipment will help enhance the operational effectiveness of the National Police. “This significant equipment provided to the National Police reflects the commitment of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, Amadou Koné, to make the police more effective in the field,” he stated. He also called on road users to demonstrate greater responsibility and civic-minded behavior.
“With the equipment we have just received, we will scale up our operations,” assured the Inspector General of Police, Siaka Dosso. Presenting the results of the operation, he revealed that a total of 4,654 unauthorized license plates were removed, 435 vehicles including 30 administrative vehicles and 659 two- and three-wheeled vehicles were impounded between February 16 and March 2, 2026.
The equipment provided by the Ministry of Transport includes five speed radars, 75 breathalyzers with mouthpieces, 200 safety cones, one box of informational leaflets (EXE), five toolkits, and 200 Famoco-type terminals.
