Miss World 2025: Fatoumata Coulibaly Takes 2nd Place in the Top Model Africa Competition

The Ivorian representative at the Miss World 2025 competition, Coulibaly Fatoumata, 72nd Miss World Côte d'Ivoire, secured 2nd place in the Top Model Africa challenge, right behind Namibian 🇳🇦 Selma Kamanya. On Saturday, May 24, in Telangana, India, where the competition is being held, the first runner-up of Miss Côte d'Ivoire 2024 showcased her full talent in front of an impressed audience, earning her a spot in the global Top 8 models to watch closely.

Fatoumata Coulibaly's achievement is not a first for Côte d'Ivoire in this prestigious international beauty pageant. In March 2022, Olivia Yacé, then Miss Côte d'Ivoire 2021, won the Miss World Top Model title, outshining nearly 100 contestants from four continents. Standing tall at 1.85 meters, the “Black Queen,” as she is known, commanded respect and brought honor to her country.

More than just a beauty contest, Miss World has, over the years, become a major platform for showcasing talent, with a strong focus on social projects benefiting communities.

From the Head-to-Head challenges to the sports events and the “Beauty with a Purpose” segment, the “Black Queen,” who proudly wore the costume of Karaba the Sorceress, never runs out of creative ideas to perfect her performance in the competition.

Determined to fulfill her mission with pride, she is pulling out all the stops to exceed the expectations of her people and the Miss Côte d'Ivoire Committee, which continues to support her.

The 72nd Miss World competition, which began on May 7, will culminate with the grand coronation night on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Since Côte d'Ivoire’s return to the international pageant in 2021, its representatives have become increasingly formidable contenders in Africa.

The final of the Miss Côte d’Ivoire 2025 competition is scheduled for June 28, at the Abidjan Exhibition Park.
