Modernization of the National Health System: Pierre N'Gou Dimba Inaugurates Two Modern Health Centers in Agboville

Pierre N'Gou Dimba, Minister of Health, Public Hygiene, and Universal Health Coverage (MSHPCMU), officially inaugurated new modern health facilities in the Agboville department on Sunday, September 7, 2025, before visiting several other ongoing projects in the Agnéby-Tiassa region.

These achievements and projects align with President Alassane Ouattara’s continuous commitment to sustainably improving healthcare services in Côte d’Ivoire through the modernization of the national health system, particularly in often underserved rural areas.

In the village of M’Battra, the first stop on his tour, Pierre N’Gou Dimba officially opened a brand-new health complex costing 450 million FCFA. It includes a dispensary with a fully equipped maternity ward, a covered area, two housing units (for the nurse and midwife), and a fence to secure the premises.

Similarly, in Arraguié, a state-of-the-art integrated health center valued at around 500 million FCFA was handed over to the local population. This project features a modern dispensary, a maternity ward with all necessary equipment, two staff housing units, a secured fence, and the rehabilitation of the old building.

“The President sent me, and what he promised has become a reality,” said the Minister of Health, reminding that these projects reflect President Ouattara’s personal commitment to the well-being of rural populations.

Minister Pierre N’Gou Dimba also visited several ongoing construction sites, including Mafou, where work is underway on a dispensary, nurse’s housing, fencing, and a covered area; and Grand Moutcho, where an ultra-modern health complex is being built. This facility will include a reception area with a cash desk and Universal Health Coverage (CMU) window, a pharmacy, a manager’s office, a dental office, a modern laboratory, two medical consultation offices, a pediatric office, and several observation rooms.

Grateful for these new health infrastructures, which will allow easier access to quality care and proper medical follow-up for pregnant women, the local communities — including leaders, men, women, and youth — hailed the concrete gesture that significantly improves their daily lives.

Minister Pierre N’Gou Dimba reaffirmed the government’s determination to continue efforts to improve access to quality healthcare, a guarantee of better health and more inclusive development.
