The Ivorian government has taken a major step forward in its administrative modernization policy with the official launch, on Friday January 16, 2026, of the MaPoste super application. Led by the National Office of Identification (ONECI) and the post of Côte d’Ivoire, this project aims to sustainably transform the relationship between the State and citizens by making public services more accessible, faster and more reliable.
A vision: a modern, efficient and citizen-centered administration
Designed as a single digital public service counter, MaPoste reflects the authorities’ determination to build a modern and innovative Côte d’Ivoire. The application’s main objective is to simplify everyday administrative procedures, reduce travel and waiting times, and secure exchanges between the administration and users.
“MyPost is much more than a simple application. It is the foundation of the digital transformation of our public services, a concrete step toward a paperless, low-carbon administration that is more resilient against document fraud,” stated Isaac GNAMBA-YAO, Director General of the Post of Côte d’Ivoire, during the presentation of the super application at Azalaï Hotel Marcory.
The success of this project is based on unprecedented synergy between two key State institutions:
-
ONECI, custodian of the National Register of Natural Persons (RNPP) and the National Identification Number (NNI), provides security and uniqueness of digital identity.
-
The post of Côte d’Ivoire, with its extensive physical network of nearly 200 branches and its ambition to become a “hub of digital creativity,” provides the trusted infrastructure needed to deploy these services nationwide.
This collaboration creates a trusted digital ecosystem, essential for the credibility and widespread adoption of such a tool.
The revolution: a mandatory digital postbox linked to the NNI
The most significant innovation introduced by MyPost is the generalization of the digital postbox. From March 2026, every citizen and every business will be assigned an official digital address linked to their National Identification Number (NNI).
How it works:
-
For citizens: annual cost of 2,000 FCFA.
-
For businesses: annual cost of 25,000 FCFA (SMEs/NGOs) or 50,000 FCFA (large companies).
-
This digital address is linked to a physical address (home or company headquarters).
-
Users receive notifications on the MyPost application for any mail or parcel.
-
They can then choose the delivery method: collection at a post office or home delivery (the latter subject to an additional fee).
Expected impacts: efficiency, traceability and formalization
This reform addresses several key challenges:
-
Solving the addressing issue by providing a reliable and unique address system nationwide.
-
Combating fraud through full traceability of mail and delivery agents, securing official documents and transactions.
-
Structuring the delivery economy by formalizing the sector and integrating safeguards for delivery workers, with the aim of ending the exploitation of informal couriers.
-
Accelerating digitization by making the digital postbox mandatory, thereby creating an official and secure channel for all administrative communications.
Next steps and implementation
The MyPost application is now available for download. La Poste Côte d’Ivoire has announced that the digital postbox system will become effective and mandatory from March 1, 2026. This transition period will allow citizens and businesses to familiarize themselves with the application and complete their registration.
With MyPost, Côte d’Ivoire is firmly placing its administrative modernization under the banner of technological innovation and inclusion, with the ambition of building public services that meet the expectations of its population.
