After 10 months of intensive training, 120 young professionals trained under the PAGDS Project received their certificates on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in Abidjan.

The beneficiaries were trained in procurement, financial management, monitoring & evaluation, and environmental and social management, in line with World Bank procedures.

Representing the Minister of Finance and Budget, Vassogbo Bamba highlighted that this initiative responds to the growing need to improve project management and reflects the government’s commitment to good governance, human capital development, and job creation.

He also emphasized the importance for young people to adapt to change and innovation through specialization and professionalization, calling for the creation of a strong talent pool capable of effectively implementing development projects.

The World Bank’s support was praised, with its current portfolio in Côte d’Ivoire totaling 23 ongoing projects worth about CFA 2,598 billion.

For her part, Madeleine Yao, Coordinator of the PAGDS, encouraged the young graduates to leverage this training for both their professional and personal development, in order to contribute to building a society grounded in good governance.
