The automobile dealer SOCIDA, official distributor of the Chinese brand Geely in Côte d’Ivoire, has recently launched its new New Energy Vehicles (NEV) range, marking an important step for electric and hybrid mobility in the local market. 

The launch event took place from February 19 to 21, 2026, at the Geely SOCIDA VGE showroom in Abidjan, featuring a brunch for visitors, partners, and automobile enthusiasts. Several models of the NEV range were showcased, including the 100% electric SUV EX5, the plug-in hybrid EX5 EM‑i, and the hybrid pickup Riddara.

According to SOCIDA representatives, this range responds to a growing demand for more economical and sustainable vehicles, offering lower fuel costs and simplified maintenance compared to traditional combustion vehicles.

SOCIDA, an established player in the Ivorian automobile market since 1974 and distributor of several international brands, stated that introducing these new energy vehicles is part of its strategy to meet urban growth and the demand for modern, quiet, and connected mobility.

The launch also aligns with broader efforts to promote less polluting transport solutions, contributing to reduced local greenhouse gas emissions and improved air quality in urban areas.
