Security: Alassane Ouattara Announces Sustained and Increased Support for the Defense and Security Forces

Placing his new term under the banner of peace and security consolidation, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, announced sustained and increased State support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in order to strengthen their vigilance. The announcement was made on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, during his traditional address to the Nation.

“Our Defense and Security Forces, whose professionalism and courage I salute, will benefit from constant and increased support from the State,” President Alassane Ouattara stated, adding that they will continue to be provided with the necessary resources to safeguard the integrity of the national territory and ensure the peace and safety of the population.

As part of his vision to make Côte d’Ivoire a respected, strong and sovereign nation, the Ivorian President emphasized the importance of equipping the Armed Forces of Côte d’Ivoire (FACI), as well as the security forces, with modern, high-performance logistical equipment. This approach aims to enable them to carry out their sovereign missions with greater efficiency.

Continuing his remarks, President Ouattara affirmed that Côte d’Ivoire will continue to honor its international commitments regarding the reception, management and protection of refugees, while ensuring the security of the Nation and all its citizens.

The Head of State also expressed the gratitude of the Nation to the men and women who, during the festive period, stand watch day and night, often far from their families, so that their fellow citizens can celebrate the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 in peace and serenity.

According to President Ouattara, security remains a central pillar of government action. Consequently, in the face of regional crises, terrorist threats and challenges linked to significant migratory flows, Côte d’Ivoire will continue to strengthen its vigilance.
