The Council of Ministers meeting held on February 4, 2026 adopted two decrees granting gold mining exploitation permits. The first decree awards an exploitation permit to Etruscan Resources Côte d'Ivoire SARL in the departments of Koun-Fao and Tanda, while the second grants a permit to Ampella Mining Côte d'Ivoire SARL in the department of Doropo.
According to the government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, the Assafo-Didibango gold project, covered by the first decree, involves an estimated investment of CFA 451.31 billion. The project is expected to achieve an average annual production of 7.99 tonnes of gold, with a total output of 120 tonnes over a 19-year operating period. It will create 251 direct jobs during the construction phase and 330 direct jobs during the mine’s operational phase.
The second project focuses on the development of several gold deposits, with a total production of 59 tonnes of gold and an average annual output of 6.43 tonnes over a 14-year operating period. The operator plans a total investment of CFA 281.4 billion, creating 1,600 direct jobs during construction and 800 direct jobs during the exploitation of the mining sites.
