On Thursday, February 5, 2026, Her Excellency Madame Kaba Nialé, State Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received His Excellency Mr. Ali Yousef Alnuaimi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, at her office.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Emirati diplomat to present his courtesies to the State Minister following her recent appointment as head of Ivorian diplomacy. He also conveyed the fraternal greetings of His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot Bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.
During the discussions, both officials reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening and diversifying bilateral cooperation between Abidjan and Abu Dhabi.
The Ambassador briefed the Minister on several key initiatives, including the proposed comprehensive economic partnership agreement, the agreement on visa exemptions between the two countries, the upcoming Ivorian-Emirati Joint Commission, and prospects for collaboration with the Emirati Sovereign Investment Fund.
The Emirati diplomat reiterated his country’s firm commitment to actively work towards the conclusion and effective implementation of these initiatives in a spirit of mutually beneficial partnership.
In response, State Minister Kaba Nialé expressed her gratitude and asked the Ambassador to convey her fraternal greetings to his Emirati counterparts. She assured that all issues discussed would be carefully reviewed by the Ivorian authorities and reaffirmed Côte d’Ivoire’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the UAE and, more broadly, with Gulf countries.
Finally, she highlighted Côte d’Ivoire’s expectations regarding the implementation of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026–2030, which aims to mobilize increased private investment, particularly in strategic sectors of the national economy, in line with the vision and guidance of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara.
