UMOA Council of Ministers: Minister of Planning and Development Attends First Ordinary Session of 2026 in Dakar

On Friday, March 27, 2026, at the headquarters of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Dakar, the Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, participated in the first ordinary session of the Council of Ministers of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA) for the year 2026.

The discussions focused on two main points.

The first concerned the review of reports on the economic and monetary situation of the Union as of December 31, 2025.

The second led to the approval of major strategic orientations for several Union institutions, including the BCEAO, the West African Development Bank (BOAD), the UMOA Commission, and the UMOA Financial Market Authority (AMF UMOA).

These decisions reflect the vitality of regional economic governance based on consultation and collective responsibility, a framework to which Côte d’Ivoire contributes consistently, aware that the balance of the common space ensures the stability of all its members.
