The Urban Mobility Authority of Greater Abidjan (AMUGA) and the National Bureau of Technical Studies and Development (BNETD) signed a framework agreement for advisory and technical support on Thursday, September 25, 2025, in Abidjan. The partnership aims to sustainably enhance urban mobility in Greater Abidjan.
The agreement was signed by Romain Kouakou, Director General of AMUGA, and Kinapara Coulibaly, his counterpart at BNETD.
“This partnership is a framework to strengthen synergies between two institutions united by the common goal of sustainably improving urban mobility in Greater Abidjan. It brings together an ambitious structure with a new vision for mobility and a pioneering institution with proven experience and strategic capabilities,” said Romain Kouakou.
Under this agreement, BNETD will provide its expertise to support AMUGA in achieving its mission, including improving the movement of people and goods, accelerating planning and implementation of public transport projects, and establishing efficient monitoring and evaluation tools.
Romain Kouakou emphasized that the convention symbolizes a joint commitment to offer modern, sustainable, efficient, and accessible transport solutions to the population. Several collaboration areas have been identified, which will lead to specific contracts for project implementation.
BNETD Director General, Kinapara Coulibaly, highlighted that the agreement formalizes an existing collaboration and represents a significant step forward in addressing the critical challenge of urban mobility.
