Vice President Tiémoko Meyliet Koné inaugurates TRANSCAO PK 24 complex

On June 26, 2025, the Vice President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, officially inaugurated the TRANSCAO PK 24 industrial complex, the industrial subsidiary of the Coffee-Cocoa Council.

Held under the High Patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, under the Sponsorship of Mr. Robert Beugré Mambé, Prime Minister, Head of Government, Minister of Sports and Living Environment, and under the Chairmanship of Mr. Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, State Minister, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, this official inauguration ceremony of the TRANSCAO PK 24 industrial complex marks a major step forward in the local industrial processing policy of Côte d’Ivoire’s agricultural products.

In his opening remarks, the Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council and President of the Organizing Committee for this ceremony, Mr. KONE Brahima Yves, stated how “this Thursday, June 26, 2025, is a great day.”

“It is the outcome of a journey full of challenges, but one that allows us today to present to the entire nation and the cocoa industry the concrete result of President Alassane OUATTARA’s vision: that the Coffee-Cocoa Council must contribute to accelerating industrial transformation and investment across all segments of the cocoa value chain,” he explained.

Continuing his speech, the Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council stated that “TRANSCAO CI is composed of two sites: TRANSCAO SEWEKE, in San Pedro, with a processing capacity of 50,000 tons; and TRANSCAO PK 24, built on a 21-hectare area and consisting of a cocoa grinding factory with a capacity of 50,000 tons, a storage warehouse with a capacity of 160,000 tons, a training center for cocoa and chocolate professions, and an administrative building. The entire project represents a total investment of 130 billion CFA francs.”

He added: “In total, TRANSCAO CI currently represents over 1,400 jobs and a processing capacity of 100,000 tons.”

Looking ahead, the Director General indicated that “within two years, TRANSCAO CI will have a total installed annual cocoa grinding capacity of 210,000 tons, due to the extension of current production lines.”

The Chair of the ceremony, Mr. Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, State Minister, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, expressed his satisfaction and emphasized that “this industrial complex reflects the President of the Republic’s vision of achieving the structural transformation of our economy by strengthening the link between production, processing, and consumption.”

To conclude his remarks, the State Minister extended “the warmest congratulations of the Vice President to the entire team of the Coffee-Cocoa Council represented by its dedicated leaders.”

“I would like to mention the dynamic Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. COULIBALY Minayaha Siaka, and the bold Director General, Mr. KONE Brahima Yves, for the excellent implementation of this ambitious project.

 

Along with this recognition for work well done, I also want to thank all the teams from the Chinese company CNDC, TRANSCAO CI, BNETD, BUREAU VERITAS, and all those who, in any way, contributed to the development of this industrial masterpiece,” he concluded.
