Abidjan Hosts Third Edition of Livestock Summit: SELAB-LIVESTOCK SHOW

The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Sidi Tiémoko Touré, officially launched the third edition of the Abidjan Livestock Summit (SELAB-LIVESTOCK SHOW) on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Abidjan-Cocody. Scheduled to take place from November 22 to 24 at the Abidjan Exhibition Park, this year's summit is held in partnership with the International Livestock Exhibition (SPACE) from Rennes, France.

Themed "Maximize Your Livestock Farming," SELAB-LIVESTOCK SHOW will spotlight Brazil, renowned globally for its agricultural prowess and excellence in livestock farming.

"SELAB-LIVESTOCK SHOW has become an essential gathering for all stakeholders in the livestock sector," affirmed Sidi Tiémoko Touré. He emphasized that this year's event will focus on promoting animal production and adapting valuable lessons from Brazil's experience to African realities. The minister encouraged both national and international investors to capitalize on this unique opportunity to explore the vast potential of Ivory Coast's livestock sector.

Touré also called upon foreign nations to establish specialized business pavilions focusing on livestock and animal production to facilitate market exploration in Ivory Coast.

Brazil's Ambassador, Jose Carlos de Arujo Leitao, highlighted his country's transformation from a food importer to one of the world's largest exporters in less than forty years.

The SELAB-LIVESTOCK SHOW promises to be a pivotal event for fostering international partnerships and leveraging Brazil's expertise to elevate Africa's livestock industry. It serves as a platform for innovation, knowledge exchange, and economic growth in the agricultural sector.
