At the opening of the 8th annual conference of the International Network of Francophone Investment Promotion Agencies (RIAFPI), held on April 9, 2026, in Abidjan, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production, Bruno Nabagné Koné, called on the Francophone network to support Côte d’Ivoire in its vision of building resilient agricultural value chains that generate sustainable jobs.

Held under the theme “Strengthening agri-food value chains: Challenges and opportunities for Francophone IPAs,” the conference provided an opportunity for Bruno Nabagné Koné to highlight that Francophone networks are strategic levers for overcoming language barriers that often hinder investment.

The Minister of Agriculture encouraged Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) to invest in the sector, particularly in agro-poles, which offer promising prospects for inclusive, competitive, and sustainable agriculture.

He also highlighted the country’s strong agricultural performance, recalling the 2026–2030 strategic vision focused on modernizing agriculture through mechanization, innovation, full product valorization, and training, with the goal of achieving full autonomy of agricultural value chains and strengthening food sovereignty.

The Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Françoise Remarck, patron of the ceremony, emphasized that the chosen theme reflects a major challenge for Francophone countries in terms of food security, stressing the need for collective action to transform economic potential into concrete opportunities. “Côte d’Ivoire remains fully committed to working alongside its partners to build a more integrated, competitive, and supportive Francophone economic space,” she stated.

For his part, Ghislain Moandza Mboma, President of RIAFPI, underlined the critical importance of regional integration, the development of agri-food value chains, and public-private dialogue to ensure sustainable economic transformation.

Through this meeting, RIAFPI reaffirmed its ambition to position itself as a key player in mobilizing investment in the agro-industrial sector.
